Why was my name not included in the live ceremony premiere on June 16?

Answer

The live premiere of our 2020 commencement ceremony on YouTube and Facebook included students who registered to participate in the virtual ceremony through our third-party vendor, Marching Order. All eligible graduates received emails in May with instructions on how to register for the commencement ceremony, and how to submit a picture and/or quote to their slide. The initial registration deadline to participate in the ceremony was June 1, which was then extended to June 8. After the live ceremony on June 16, we updated our commencement website to include an extended presentation of diplomas. The extended presentation includes a reading of all 2,200 graduates names and degrees and can be re-watched at any time and shared directly with family and friends. Question 2

Why is my name not included in the full presentation of diplomas, or in the graduate slides?

Answer

While every effort was made to include all eligible graduates, we realize there are some students whose names may have not been included in the 2020 commencement ceremony. For a student's name to be included in the full presentation of diplomas an Intent to Graduate form must have been submitted to the Office of the Registrar by June 1. Due to constraints related to the production of the virtual ceremony we were not able to include names of individuals who submitted forms after the deadline. Creation of a graduate slide, including photos and quotes, were initially required to be submitted through our third-party vendor, Marching Order, by June 1. This deadline was later extended to June 8. Students who did not graduate or will not graduate after the 2020 summer quarter did not qualify for the 2020 ceremony.
